School of Environmental & Natural Resource Sciences

Our School is different. Our focus is the environment, so you won't spend much time in a lecture hall.

It's active, outdoor, hands-on learning, with field camps and projects that will challenge you to put your new skills into practice. Most programs offer work placements, and some offer paid co-ops, internships, or international exchanges. Our small class sizes are taught by renowned faculty who are committed to your success.

More of our grads are working in the environmental and natural resources fields than any other college in Canada. Our school is different – are you?

Common First Semester

Students in most of our two-year (4 semester) diploma programs take the same courses during their first semester. This gives you an integrated base of knowledge, technical and field skills, plus freedom to explore the many program and career opportunities in the environmental and natural resources sector.

Double the Power of Your Diploma

Most of our two-year diploma programs offer the option to obtain a dual diploma. When you complete semester 4 of your Technician Diploma program, you can obtain another Technician Diploma with just 2 more semesters:

  • Save $ while you increase your value in the work world
  • Add another specialization to your skill set
  • Graduate with 2 diplomas in just 3 years

Going Global

Since 2009, the Ecosystem Management program has been sending a team of students and faculty to Costa Rica, to conduct research on marine turtles, reptiles, and amphibians. "Students who participate in the international field placement return to Canada confident in their abilities, inspired to make a difference, and engaged in a culture of positive environmental change." – states Josh Feltham, award-winning professor. This year, students also participated in research, monitoring and habitat restoration at a wilderness reserve in South Africa.
